In the process of soil erosion control, China adheres to adjusting measures to local conditions, comprehensively strengthens the supervision and monitoring of soil and water conservation and scientific and technological innovation, and continuously improves the basic support capacity of soil and water conservation. For example, in the past, soil and water conservation monitoring mainly relied on positioning observation, which is difficult to fully reflect the macro scale soil and water loss. In this regard, the Ministry of water resources issued the national plan for dynamic monitoring of soil and water loss (2018-2022) to organize and start the implementation of full coverage of national dynamic monitoring of soil and water loss. Since 2018, the national dynamic monitoring of soil and water loss has been fully covered, which timely reflects the remarkable achievements of soil and water conservation in the construction of ecological civilization, and provides a scientific basis for clarifying the objectives and tasks of soil and water conservation and ecosystem protection and restoration during the 14th Five Year Plan period. The Ministry of water resources organized scientific researchers to actively carry out research on objectives and Countermeasures of water and soil conservation in the new era, research and development of soil erosion models and carbon sink of water and soil conservation, accelerate the improvement of the standard system and improve the scientific and technological support capacity of water and soil conservation.
