Wang Qishan said that China and the ROK are friendly neighbors and important cooperative partners to each other. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral relations have developed comprehensively and rapidly, with more and more common interests. In the context of the current changes in the world and the epidemic situation in the 21st century, strengthening China ROK cooperation is more important to both sides, regions and even the world. China is willing to make joint efforts with the ROK to promote the China ROK strategic cooperative partnership to keep pace with the times and move forward to a higher level. Wang Qishan put forward five suggestions on the further development of bilateral relations. First, strengthen strategic communication and high-level exchanges, and further activate dialogue and exchanges in all aspects and at all levels. Second, deepen practical cooperation, strengthen the docking of development strategies, deepen cooperation in key areas and third-party markets, and promote the improvement and upgrading of bilateral cooperation. Third, give full play to the advantages of geographical proximity, cultural affinity and personal affinity. Take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the year of cultural exchanges between China and South Korea as an opportunity to design and implement more activities conducive to enhancing national friendship, so as to continuously inject positive energy into the development of bilateral relations. Fourth, strengthen communication and coordination on international and regional affairs, work together to safeguard multilateralism and the free trade system, and promote regional and global development and prosperity. Fifth, strengthen coordination and cooperation on Peninsula affairs and properly handle sensitive issues. China sincerely supports the improvement of relations between the north and the south of the peninsula and promotes reconciliation and cooperation. China is willing to strengthen communication with the ROK to promote denuclearization and lasting peace on the peninsula. The ROK government is willing to take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to continuously close high-level strategic communication and exchanges at all levels between the two countries on the basis of mutual respect, further strengthen bilateral exchanges and practical cooperation in various fields, enhance non-governmental friendship and promote ROK China relations to open a new era.
