2022-05-05
The Marrakesh Treaty on facilitating access to published works for the blind, visually impaired or other print dyslexics entered into force for our country on May 5. As the only international human rights treaty in the field of copyright, the treaty aims to provide people with reading disabilities with access to and use of works, so as to ensure their equal access to culture and education. After the Marrakech treaty enters into force for China, it will greatly enrich the spiritual and cultural life of Chinese people with reading disabilities, improve their education level, promote the overseas dissemination of Chinese excellent works, and further enhance China's voice and influence in the field of international copyright. On October 23, 2021, the 31st meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress voted and adopted the decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Ratifying the treaty.
