The Ministry of refugee affairs of the Afghan interim government distributed food aid provided by the Chinese government to 1500 people in need in the capital Kabul on the 23rd. This is the fifth batch of grain delivered by the Chinese government for humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan at the beginning of this month. Abdul mutalib Haqqani, spokesman of the refugee affairs department of the Afghan interim government, told Xinhua that each person on the scene could receive 50 kilograms of rice assisted by China. He said that the Afghan interim government is grateful to the Chinese government for providing assistance to Afghanistan at a time of difficulties. Khalil Haqqani, acting Minister of the Ministry of refugee affairs of the Afghan interim government, said at the scene of aid distribution that the Ministry of refugee affairs will continue to distribute food aid from China to Afghan provinces. Reid Ahmed, a 35 year old civil servant in Kabul, told Xinhua that his family has 10 people and life is very difficult. He is very grateful to China for its assistance. Afghanistan is currently facing a serious humanitarian crisis. The Chinese government announced in September last year that it would provide emergency humanitarian assistance worth 200 million yuan to Afghanistan, including food, wintering supplies, vaccines and medicines.
