In the rolling wheels, the times are making progress silently. Most of the heavy trucks driving on the expressway are still the same, but in the relatively closed scenes such as logistics parks, ports and mines, there are more and more new intelligent trucks with higher "appearance", more environmental protection and driverless. They carry all kinds of goods to the set goal, and run in an orderly manner. In recent years, the trend of electrification, networking and intelligence in the automotive field has developed in depth, and breakthroughs have been made in intellectual property rights and core technologies, bringing new development opportunities to the truck industry. Compared with many debates on technology and safety in the passenger car market, trucks, as means of production, have taken the lead in the commercialization of automatic driving. Demand side changes forced the transformation of the truck industry. According to the data of China Automobile Industry Association, the sales volume of heavy trucks in China was 1.395 million in 2021, a year-on-year decrease of 13.8%. In the first quarter of this year, the number was 232000, with a year-on-year decrease of 56.3%. After years of continuous growth, heavy truck sales showed fatigue, changing from "incremental competition" to "stock competition". Traditional truck manufacturers urgently need to find new growth points. In addition, the logistics industry is facing many pain points, such as rising labor costs, shortage of drivers, frequent accidents and so on. The new smart truck that can help the industry reduce costs and increase efficiency has natural attraction. In addition, the truck use scene is relatively closed and the line is fixed, which is more suitable for automatic driving landing. For a time, truck manufacturers, logistics enterprises, technology companies and some cross-border passenger car manufacturers have arranged the track to seize the market. From the early part assembly mode to today's smart trucks, the domestic truck industry has blossomed everywhere, showing the surging power of innovation and development of the industry. In July 1956, Changchun FAW assembled the first Jiefang Truck CA10, marking the starting point of new China's automobile industry. Since then, independent brand trucks have been occupying the mainstream of China's highway transportation by virtue of their strong and durable advantages. However, for a long time, domestic trucks are synonymous with "cost performance", and foreign brands firmly control the top of the pyramid of the truck market. Today, electrification, networking and intelligence have opened up a new track for competition in the truck industry. In the past, the core technology of automobile built by parameters such as engine displacement and transmission has evolved into new indicators such as battery mileage and auto drive system. Chinese and foreign brands are standing on the same race line, bringing important opportunities for local truck brands to impact high-end market. At present, the competition in the field of smart trucks is fierce, and the technical competition will determine the future market pattern. However, the complexity of autopilot technology depends more on the integration ability of manufacturers than individual combat. Environmental perception, intelligent decision-making, control execution and precise positioning, the realization of each function is very complex, and when each part forms the system, it also faces the strict test of stability and reliability, which requires the R & D team to carry out long-term experiments and data accumulation, as well as the close coordination of the industrial chain. For smart trucks, safety is always the first important thing. As a new thing, its development is far from mature. Although the vision is very beautiful, manufacturers also realize that due to many technical and legal obstacles, the large-scale commercialization of completely driverless vehicles is blocked and long. However, this does not mean inaction. The application of different levels of automatic driving technology and other intelligent means on trucks is helping tens of millions of "card friends" reduce driving intensity, increase work fun, and accompany "card friends" to walk more safely through the mountains and rivers of the motherland, which will also accumulate a large amount of data and valuable experience for realizing real unmanned driving.
