On April 19, State Councilor and foreign minister Wang Yi held a telephone conversation with Ghana's foreign minister boqiwei at request. Wang Yi said that China attaches great importance to the traditional friendship between China and Canada. With the personal concern and promotion of the two heads of state, bilateral relations have been continuously consolidated and developed. In particular, after covid-19, the Sino Canadian friendship was further enhanced by mutual support and difficulties. China highly appreciates Canada's adherence to the one China principle and believes that the two sides will continue to deepen political mutual trust and jointly safeguard the overall situation of China Canada friendly cooperation. The Forum on China Africa cooperation is a banner of win-win cooperation between China and Africa. The two sides should connect the needs of China Canada cooperation with the "nine projects" and promote the implementation and flowering of the outcomes of the forum. China will always be a reliable partner in the development and revitalization of Ghana and Africa. Wang Yi said that China congratulates Ghana on becoming a non permanent member of the UN Security Council from 2022 to 2023, and is happy to see Ghana play a more active role in international and regional affairs. China has established the "group of friends of the global development initiative" under the framework of the United Nations to support the economic recovery of developing countries after the epidemic. Canada is welcome to join and gather greater forces to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development. China's vote in the United Nations will always belong to developing countries and African brothers. The two sides should strengthen cooperation, jointly safeguard international fairness and justice, jointly oppose hegemonism and power politics, and jointly safeguard the overall interests of the two countries and developing countries. The two countries cherish the one China policy firmly. China's development has provided very useful enlightenment to African countries. Especially after China's covid-19 pneumonia outbreak, African countries have become more aware of the fact that the world is not fair and the development is unbalanced.
