From April 12 to 13, Ma Zhaoxu, China's BRICs affairs coordinator and vice foreign minister, presided over the second meeting of BRICs coordinators in 2022. The BRICs coordinators of Russia, India, Brazil and South Africa and representatives of relevant Chinese departments attended the meeting. Ma Zhaoxu said that at present, the epidemic situation in the century overlaps and resonates with the changes in the century, the international pattern accelerates the evolution, the world economic recovery has a long way to go, and the realization of the 2030 sustainable development goal faces new risks and challenges. As representatives of emerging markets and developing countries, the BRICs countries should act accordingly, deepen the strategic partnership, give play to the role of "stabilizer" of the situation and "accelerator" of development, contribute to the BRICs program for the maintenance of fairness and justice, inject BRICs strength into the stability of the global market, build a BRICs defense line for the joint fight against the epidemic and provide BRICs impetus for international development cooperation. Ma Zhaoxu introduced the cooperation progress made by BRICs countries in key areas such as political security, economy, trade and finance, public health, sustainable development, people to people exchanges and mechanism construction since this year, as well as the ideas on the preparations for this year's BRICs leaders' meeting. He stressed that China, as the chair of this year's BRICs countries, looks forward to working with BRICs partners to continue to strengthen communication and coordination and deepen practical cooperation, Ensure the success of the leaders' meeting. Representatives of all countries highly appreciated the leadership role played by China as the chair, fully affirmed the achievements and progress made in BRICs cooperation in various fields this year, and expressed that they would continue to support the work of China's chair and jointly promote the BRICs "year of China" to achieve fruitful results.
