Shabaz Sharif was sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan on the 11th. The swearing in ceremony was held at the presidential palace in Islamabad on the evening of the 11th. Pakistani President alvi was absent from the ceremony on the grounds of physical discomfort. Pakistani Senate President sanjilani presided over the ceremony. Shabaz Sharif, chairman of the Muslim League (Sharif faction), won the support of 174 parliamentarians and was elected the new prime minister. Pakistan's National Assembly passed a no confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan in the early morning of the 10th, making him the first prime minister in Pakistan's history to be dismissed by the national assembly. Shabaz Sharif, 70, is the younger brother of former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. After entering the political arena of Pakistan in the 1980s, shabaz Sharif served as the chief minister of Punjab province in eastern Pakistan for three times, with rich political experience. In March 2018, shabaz Sharif was elected chairman of the Muslim League (Xie faction).
