Asia's first deepwater jacket "haiji-1" was installed in place at sea
2022-04-12
On April 11, haiji-1, the first deep-water jacket in Asia independently designed and built by China, successfully slid into the water and was accurately placed in the sea area of Lufeng oilfield, Guangdong, creating a new record for the offshore installation of deep-water jackets in Asia, marking that the complete set of key technologies and installation capacity of China's deep-water super large jackets have reached the world-class level, which is of great strategic significance to promote the increase of offshore oil and gas storage and production and ensure national energy security. With a total height of 302 meters, haiji-1 is close to the height of the Eiffel Tower and ranks among the top 10 in the world. Its total weight is 30000 tons, and the steel used can make a medium-sized aircraft carrier. The launching site is more than 200 kilometers southeast of Shenzhen, with a water depth of about 284 meters. It is the first time in China to install a fixed jacket in the sea area with a water depth of nearly 300 meters. The jacket platform is the most widely used offshore oil and gas production facility in the world. The jacket is equivalent to the "base", which lifts the huge platform on the sea. It is reported that "haiji-1" is the first time that China has tried the development mode of 300m deep-water jacket platform. Compared with the previous development mode, it is more economical and safe, and can greatly reduce the drilling and completion engineering and subsequent production and operation costs.
