Huawei: it is estimated that the scale of the global IOT will reach 10 billion by 2030

On April 4, during the 23rd MPLS SD AI Network World Conference, the IPv6 summit was held in the Paris Conference Center. At the summit, Wu Ping, CTO of Huawei's data communication product line Europe Division, said that the digital wave is sweeping the world. In most countries and regions, the growth rate of digital economy is more than twice that of GDP, and the impact of digital economy on the world is more significant than at any time in history. It home learned that Wu Ping pointed out that the rapid development of digital economy has put forward new requirements for traditional IP networks. The first is massive connectivity. It is estimated that the scale of the global IOT will reach 10 billion by 2030. Supporting massive device access will become an important basic capability of IP network; Secondly, with the advent of the cloud era, more and more enterprises choose multi cloud connection to realize key business backup and the use of different application services, which poses a challenge to the real-time and flexibility of the network; Finally, facing the future, not only the office business will be on the cloud, but also the production business is migrating to the cloud, which puts forward higher requirements for the certainty of network connection. For example, industrial control, telemedicine and other scenarios require the end-to-end delay jitter of the network to be controlled at the microsecond level. Facing the above challenges, Wu Ping said that the first step is to solve the problem of massive IP address requirements by introducing IPv6 technology. The industry has basically reached a consensus in this regard, but only this step is not enough. We must further optimize the connection quality with the help of IPv6 + innovative technologies such as enhanced certainty, programmability and operation and maintenance, so as to fundamentally match the requirements of digital economy.
