Novak elected president of Hungary

The Hungarian parliament elected Novak katarin, the presidential candidate of the ruling youth Democratic League and the Christian Democratic Party, as the president of Hungary on the 10th. Novak became the first female president of Hungary. The Hungarian constitution stipulates that the president is elected by Parliament. A total of two candidates competed, and the other was Ronald Peter, the presidential candidate of the opposition coalition. In the first round of voting on the same day, 195 members voted, including 188 valid votes. Nowak won 137 votes, more than the two-thirds majority required to be elected president. Ronald got 51 votes. Novak will take office on May 10 for a five-year term. Hungary's current president Adel will retire on the same date. Novak was born in segde, Hungary in 1977. He has served as vice chairman of the youth Democratic League since 2017 and member of the youth Democratic Alliance since 2018. (Xinhua News Agency)
