Yin Xiyue won the presidential election in South Korea

According to the statistical results released by South Korea's central election Management Commission on the 10th, Yin Xiyue, the candidate of the largest opposition National Power Party, won the 20th presidential election in South Korea. At about 6:00 local time on the 10th (5:00 Beijing time), South Korea's central election Management Commission completed 100% counting of votes in the presidential election. According to statistics, Yin Xiyue won 48.56% of the votes, followed by Li Zaiming, the candidate of the ruling party's co Democratic Party, with a vote rate of 47.83%. Li delivered a speech in the early morning of the same day, admitting his defeat and congratulating Yin Xiyue on his victory. He expressed the hope that Yin Xiyue could open an era beyond division and contradiction. Yin Xiyue later said in his speech that the voting result was a victory for the Korean people. He also called on the people to unite. South Korea's 20th presidential election held a formal vote on the 9th. A total of 14 candidates registered in the current presidential election. An Zheshu, candidate of the National Party, announced his abandonment in the final stage and joined hands with Yin Xiyue. Jin Dongyan, candidate of the new wave party, abandoned the election and announced his support for Li Zaiming. According to the statistics of South Korea's central election Management Commission, there were 44.1977 million registered voters in this presidential election, with a turnout of 77.1%, 0.1 percentage point lower than the previous one. Yin Xiyue was born in Seoul, South Korea in December 1960. He served as the leader of the special investigation team of "crony interference in politics" in 2016, the Attorney General of Seoul Central District Attorney's office in 2017 and the attorney general in July 2019. In June 2021, Yin Xiyue announced to run for president. In 1987, the constitution of South Korea was amended and the president was directly elected by the whole people.
