Luozhuogacuo, member of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference: it is suggested to apply for Sakya temple to be included in the world cultural heritage list
2022-03-09
Luo zhuogacuo, member of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Shigatse Municipal People's Congress and executive deputy director of the Sakya Temple Management Committee, has performed his duties for five consecutive years. At the fifth session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, he once again proposed to apply for Sakya temple to be included in the world cultural heritage list, and proposed to give full play to the historical value of Sakya North Temple and build a solid education base for the awareness of the Chinese nation community. At the meeting in 2020, lodzhogatso submitted a proposal for the application for the world heritage of Sakya temple, which was proposed again this year. During this period, he has been sorting and collecting data. Luozhuogacuo, 56, is from Sakya county. He became a monk at the age of 17. While receiving education in the temple, he was lucky to study at the senior Buddhist College of the Tibetan Language Department of China in 1989, and then studied at the Central University for Nationalities for three years. Luozhuogacuo believes that the learning experience in the mainland is a rare blessing in his practice, which gives him a vision and pattern different from other monks in Tibet, and adds a background for better performing the responsibilities of members of the CPPCC National Committee. He introduced that Sakya temple is the main temple of Sakya sect, the five major sects of Tibetan Buddhism. Basiba, the fifth generation leader of Sakya sect of Tibetan Buddhism, was awarded the national teacher of the Yuan Dynasty, presided over the Yuan Dynasty, set up military and political institutions in Tibet and established the local administrative system of Tibet, which greatly promoted the political, economic and cultural ties between Tibet and the mainland. Sitorazhang was the seat of power during the period when BASBA led the whole Tibetan affairs and took charge of the Sakya regime. The Buddha statues unearthed in uzilakang in 1980 and a large number of handwritten scriptures are closely related to the mainland culture. At present, the Sakya North Temple dominated by sitorazhang and uzilakang is only a site, which has been strictly preserved and strictly protected. Luozhuogacuo believes that we should better excavate, sort out and give full play to the historical value of Sakya North Temple, and create an education base for firmly casting the consciousness of the Chinese nation community. He admitted that at present, Sakya North Temple still lacks the systematic combing and integration of existing historical sites, the research and excavation are relatively limited, the creation and utilization are not sufficient, and its historical value and time value have not been fully reflected and brought into play. Committed to the restoration of the site of Sakya North Temple, lodzhogatso collected old photos of Sakya North Temple at the beginning of the last century and recorded the oral statements of the old monks about the scenes of the inner hall of Sakya North Temple. As a monk, he is also concerned about the development of social and people's livelihood outside his religious identity. In the past four years, luozhuogacuo has submitted proposals on Tibet's border transportation, infrastructure development and the construction of economic cooperation zones. He hoped that the border people and the people in the hinterland would enjoy equal and high-quality socialized services. In his view, religious people are no longer monks who live in temples, eat fast and chant Buddhism, but members who enter society and participate in social governance. The pattern should stand high and far with the change of identity and the broadening of horizons. Looking at problems, analyzing problems and giving advice on senior management can not be limited to a temple or a place where the temple is located. Therefore, after the expiration of his duty this year, lodzhogatso will continue to pay attention to social development inside and outside the religious field. (outlook new era)
