IDC: in 2022, the global AI market reached US $432.8 billion, an increase of nearly 20%

According to the latest data released by IDC, the global AI revenue in 2022 is expected to increase by 19.6% year-on-year to US $432.8 billion, including software, hardware and services. It is expected to break the $500 billion mark in 2023. Among the three technology categories, AI hardware and service expenditure grew faster, while AI software expenditure share decreased slightly in 2022, and this trend will continue until 2023. Overall, AI services are expected to achieve the fastest expenditure growth in the next five years, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22%, while AI hardware has a compound annual growth rate of 20.5%. In the branch industry of AI software, AI applications accounted for 47% of the expenditure in the first half of 2021, followed by AI system infrastructure software (35%). In terms of growth, artificial intelligence platform is expected to perform best, with a five-year compound growth rate of 34.6%. The slowest growth was in AI system infrastructure software, with a five-year compound growth rate of 14.1%. In the AI application branch, AI ERM is expected to maintain the fastest growth rate in the next few years. The five-year compound annual growth rate of artificial intelligence life cycle software is 38.9%. In the branch of AI services, AI IT services achieved a year-on-year growth of 20.4% in the first half of 2021, and the global expenditure reached US $18.4 billion. This figure is expected to increase to 22% in 2022 and remain unchanged at the end of the forecast period. AI business services are also not lagging behind in growth, with a five-year compound growth rate of 21.9%. By 2025, the overall AI service expenditure is expected to reach US $52.6 billion. Compared with software and services, the market share of AI Hardware branch industry increased the fastest in the first half of 2021, with a growth rate of 0.5%. The market share is expected to reach 5% in 2022, with a year-on-year increase of 24.9%. In the first half of 2021, the growth of AI storage is stronger than that of AI servers. However, this trend will be reversed in 2022. AI servers are expected to grow by 26.1%, while AI storage is expected to grow by 19.7%.
