There are shortcomings in operational performance There are many doubts about the "laser air defense" plan in Israel. First of all, due to the influence of extreme weather such as fog, rain and snow, laser weapons cannot fight all-weather. Because laser weapons need to consume a lot of electric energy, it is difficult to be applied on a large scale until the energy storage equipment is miniaturized. Secondly, although it costs less to strike air targets with lasers, the cost of R & D and maintenance is high. The laser emitted from the ground is more vulnerable to the weather, so the best solution is to improve air defense through UAVs equipped with laser weapons. As a result, a large number of UAVs are required to keep flying in the air, and the cost is also not low. Thirdly, the killing efficiency of laser weapons is low. Generally, laser technology takes 2 to 3 seconds to destroy an incoming rocket, but it is difficult to deal with if the enemy launches 2 to 4 rockets per second.
