Recently, an expert consultation and demonstration meeting on the implementation scheme of the national comprehensive land improvement pilot in Guangdong Province, hosted by the Provincial Department of natural resources, undertaken by the provincial land development and regulation center and co organized by the provincial land and space ecological restoration Association, was held in Guangzhou. The author learned from the meeting that in 2021, 20 towns and townships such as Aotou Town, Conghua District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province were identified by the Ministry of natural resources as the pilot area of comprehensive land improvement in the whole region, and Conghua District, Guangzhou city was selected as the only pilot area of comprehensive land improvement in the county in China. According to the relevant person in charge of the Provincial Department of natural resources, in order to support the implementation of the pilot work, Guangdong Province has issued support policies. On the basis of the national support policies, Guangdong Province has also increased policy support in examining and approving the land and space planning in advance, encouraging the revitalization of the stock of construction land, and supporting the investment of pilot funds, and organized a number of provincial pilots. From the current pilot implementation plan of the national pilot area of comprehensive land improvement in Guangdong Province, all the pilot implementation plans have made great achievements in improving the rural style, protecting the rural history and culture, and introducing characteristic rural industries. The pilot of comprehensive land improvement in Guangdong Province has clear requirements in improving rural style, protecting rural history and culture, and introducing characteristic rural industries. It is estimated that there are 19 national township pilot projects in the province, involving 3012 square kilometers of pilot area and 1.892 million people. The pilot delimits 1.732 million mu of remediation area, arranges 516 land remediation and ecological restoration projects, and is expected to drive 49000 employed people. Another important goal of the pilot project of comprehensive land improvement in the whole region is to strengthen ecological protection and restoration and optimize the ecological spatial pattern. Adhering to the red line of cultivated land is also one of the basic requirements of comprehensive land improvement in the whole region. Where the adjustment of cultivated land and permanent basic farmland is involved, we should ensure that the quantity, quality and ecology are improved. The newly added cultivated land area shall not be less than 5% of the original cultivated land area in the regulation area. If the regulation of permanent basic farmland is involved in the regulation area, the newly added permanent basic farmland area shall not be less than 5% of the adjusted area. According to preliminary estimates, 19 national township pilot projects in the province will add 21500 mu of cultivated land, cultivate 25300 mu of paddy field and adjust 7200 mu of permanent basic farmland after comprehensive land improvement.
