On December 9, 2021 (December 10, Beijing time), the Republic of Nicaragua and the people's Republic of China signed a joint communique on the restoration of diplomatic relations, recognized each other and restored diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level, and worked together to strengthen cooperation, exchange and unity and promote the construction of a community for human life. This is a day of brothers' reunion, a day of extraordinary significance. For Nicaragua, the resumption of diplomatic relations with the people's Republic of China is of historical significance. This is Nicaragua's clear recognition of China's history, law and political reality on the basis of the one China principle. The government of Nicaragua recognizes that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. The People's Republic of China government is the only legitimate government representing China. This is also a fact recognized by the international community. The world is undergoing profound and complex changes. In this context, the resumption of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China is very important, which is a recognition of the similar values and ideas and people's friendship between the two countries. Nicaragua will defend this common value on all international occasions, support China's position and promote the construction of a world of justice, peace, dialogue and equitable development. The general trend of world multipolarization, economic globalization and democratization of international relations has not changed. We should promote the international community to uphold the principles of mutual respect, fairness and justice and win-win cooperation, promote the construction of a new type of international relations and form a more just and reasonable international order. Nicaragua is committed to upholding democracy, fairness, justice and multilateralism, upholding the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, maintaining international peace and security, adhering to the peaceful settlement of disputes, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries and non-interference in their internal affairs. Friendship, cooperation, solidarity, practicing multilateralism, promoting global development and supporting developing countries are the characteristics of China's diplomacy. The third ministerial meeting of the China celac forum held recently put forward a series of very important principled positions. Nigeria fully agrees that we should respect each other's sovereignty, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, respect the dignity and territorial integrity of all countries, respect the right to development and the social security system, strive to solve the concerns of all countries and adhere to the peaceful settlement of disputes. We oppose the use or threat of use of force to resolve disputes, and oppose unilateral coercive measures that violate international law and the Charter of the United Nations and threaten sovereignty and stability. Nigeria opposes the use of ethnic minorities and other issues to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. Under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people have made unremitting efforts and made great achievements in politics, economy, society, health, education, culture, science and technology, diplomacy and other fields.
