2022-01-14
Pakistan's Foreign Ministry spokesman Asim Iftikhar Ahmed said in Islamabad, capital of 13, that the global development initiative put forward by China's leaders will help deepen international cooperation to tackle the common challenges facing COVID-19, climate change and other global challenges. In response to a Xinhua reporter's question at a regular press conference on the same day, Ahmed said that Pakistan welcomes and supports the global development initiative. The proposal of this initiative is a timely and goodwill move to promote the implementation of the United Nations 2030 agenda for sustainable development. It will open up new ways of cooperation with developing countries and support their economic recovery and sustainable development in the post epidemic era. Ahmed said that the global development initiative focuses on poverty reduction, food security, combating the epidemic, climate change, green development and connectivity, which are consistent with Pakistan's priority direction of economic and social development. Pakistan and China are all-weather strategic partners. Pakistan looks forward to further deepening the development of bilateral relations through the global development initiative. (outlook new era)
