(Asmara, 5 January 2022) 1、 At the invitation of Eritrean foreign minister Ottoman, Wang Yi, State Councilor and foreign minister of the people's Republic of China, visited Eritrea from January 4 to 5, 2022. During the visit, State Councilor and foreign minister Wang Yi held talks and meetings with foreign minister Osman and President Isaias respectively. The two sides exchanged candid, friendly and in-depth views on bilateral, international and regional issues of common concern. 2、 The two sides are encouraged by the confirmation by the two heads of state to further consolidate and develop the bilateral strategic partnership. They agreed that the bilateral strategic partnership is rooted in the tradition of mutual support. Based on the similar historical experiences and values of both sides, and on the premise of respecting the rule of law, independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and cooperation, the two sides are committed to promoting regional and world peace, stability and prosperity. 3、 Both sides agreed to actively carry out practical cooperation within the framework of the strategic partnership and the Forum on China Africa cooperation. 4、 The two sides agreed to uphold the common values of all mankind of peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy and freedom, and oppose interference in the internal affairs of other countries under the banner of "democracy and human rights".
