2021-12-30
The Chinese film market, which has withstood the test of the epidemic and gradually recovered, will hand over a commendable report card in the past year. At the round table dialogue of Golden Rooster Film Forum held in Xiamen on the afternoon of 29th, industry representatives generally believed that 2021 was a year of rapid rise of domestic films, and the strong demand brought huge imagination space to Chinese films. Changjin lake, the highest box office in Chinese film history, appeared in 2021, showing the huge demand of the domestic film market. "As long as we can make excellent films and have moving stories, Chinese films will develop well as a whole." Fu ruoqing, general manager of China Film Co., Ltd., said at the forum. In fact, among the top 20 films at the box office in 2021, 17 are domestic films. Wang Jianer, chairman of Shanghai Film Co., Ltd., believes that this is a good opportunity for Chinese films to catch up with and surpass the world's advanced level. Among the popular works this year, both large-scale production and small-scale boutiques have given Chinese filmmakers great confidence. The results are hard won. Looking back over the past two years, the epidemic once led to the shutdown of the film market. Some people said that they had encountered a "cold winter", but the fact gave filmmakers hope. "This year's Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, may day, national day and other film slot box office even exceeded 2019, reaching the best holiday slot record in history." Said Yu Dong, founder of Bona Film Group Co., Ltd. The tenacity of China's film market has enabled the industry to step up the production and supply of "fresh water" and provide more choices for the normal schedule of the whole year. Well known director Huang Jianxin deeply felt the great progress of Chinese film profession in recent years when filming Changjin lake. He said that we have the ability and breadth of mind to recruit outstanding film teams from around the world to participate in production, so that Chinese films can gradually approach or reach the world's advanced level in technology. While optimistic about China's film market, filmmakers also remain sober. Gong Yu, founder of iqiyi, described the Chinese film market as "cautiously optimistic." although the strong demand has given us more room for market imagination, there are also multiple challenges such as tight supply and capital, and changes in consumption habits. The core problem is how to retain the audience and meet the diversified needs of the public with high-quality works. " Wang Zhonglei, founder of Huayi Brothers Media Co., Ltd., believes that we can pay more attention to the new generation of film audiences, try the theme types loved by young people, and give young entrepreneurs and filmmakers more opportunities to show their works, because these new forces represent the future of Chinese films. People in the industry also generally believe that only based on the times and close to the people can we create more moving stories, which will be an important issue to be solved in the rapid development of Chinese films.
