The two-day fifth European silk road summit was recently held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. More than 300 railway freight professionals from all over the world gathered together and had in-depth exchanges on the latest development trend of China EU trains. The summit was hosted by promedia group, a large Dutch logistics and publishing enterprise, and carried out offline and online simultaneously. Kim DeVos, the group's project manager, told people.com that the European silk road summit aims to build a platform for logistics and transportation enterprises, policy makers and academia related to China EU train operation to exchange information and strengthen cooperation, so as to integrate resources and promote the sustainable development of China EU trains. Mayovi van lain, chief editor of the "international railway freight news network", who presided over many activities of the summit, told the people's Daily that at the beginning of the opening of the China EU train, many people in Europe were not optimistic about the development prospect of the China EU train, but facts have proved that it is a very successful international material flow channel. Compared with sea transportation, railway freight transportation is faster; Rail freight costs are lower than air freight. More importantly, railway freight is the greenest way in international logistics channels. Finnish Minister of development cooperation and foreign trade vele skinnery said that the China EU train greatly shortens the freight time and has a significant advantage in time cost. At the same time, the carbon emission of railway freight transportation is low, which has obvious advantages of environmental protection and sustainability.
