When planning the national major theme art work "reaffirming the four modernizations", I carefully selected dozens of landmark achievements in China's industry, agriculture, national defense and science and technology in the 1960s and 1970s, repeatedly compared, verified and solicited opinions, and finally determined 11 representative and contemporary works. After the exhibition, the works aroused a warm response and brought people into the passionate years of that year, so as to sincerely admire and lament the wise decision-making of our party and the diligence and greatness of the Chinese people. In my creation of "breaking out of the C-ring", I used radar to form a large encirclement. A huge Chinese fighter plane broke through the encirclement, and a Chinese pilot stood proudly and looked ahead. It was intended to express the people's Air Force's heroic spirit of daring to light the sword and win without fear of the encirclement formed by strong enemies. Although the picture is simple, it reflects the determination and belief of our army to fight and win. Artistic creation should be refined. The central scene of "reaffirming the four modernizations" created by me is Premier Zhou's sick attendance at the first session of the Fourth National People's Congress in early 1975 to make a government work report. In order to draw Premier Zhou's expression at that time, I watched the video materials countless times, felt the scene while watching, and made the final draft with tears. I made great efforts to create the scene and atmosphere at that time when drawing lines, draining powder and coloring, so as to express Premier Zhou's painstaking spirit for the four modernizations. Premier Zhou's facial expression alone was painted nearly a hundred times. Every time he touched and wiped his portrait, it was like talking to Premier Zhou.
