The law enforcement departments of the SAR government take law enforcement actions against the persons or units concerned on the basis of evidence, in strict accordance with the law and in accordance with their acts, which has nothing to do with their political position, background or occupation. The spokesman said that with regard to the prosecution and judicial independence of the HKSAR, the Hong Kong Basic Law stipulates that the prosecution work is in the charge of the Department of justice of the HKSAR without any interference, and its prosecution decision does not involve any political consideration.
