Japan reports bird flu outbreak again
2021-12-06
Japan's Ministry of agriculture, forestry and Fisheries announced on the 5th that there was an outbreak of avian influenza in a duck farm in Chiba county. This is the sixth avian influenza epidemic in Japan and the first in Kanto during the avian influenza epidemic season (usually from autumn and winter of that year to spring of the next year). According to the Japanese Ministry of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, about 340 ducks were raised in the duck farm where the epidemic occurred. Through genetic testing, relevant departments found that the ducks in the duck farm were infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza virus. According to the epidemic prevention regulations, all ducks in the duck farm will be killed, and epidemic prevention control areas will be set around them. Japan recently reported bird flu outbreaks one after another. Previously, bird flu outbreaks occurred in farms in Akita County, Kagoshima County, Hyogo county and Kumamoto county. (outlook new era)
