Opening of the first 5g smart port in Dawan District
2021-11-15
On November 14, Shenzhen Shekou Mawan port, the first 5g green and low-carbon smart port in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Dawan District, opened. In Mawan smart port area, the remote control shore bridge driver of the intelligent operation center operates the shore bridge, grabs the container from the ship and accurately lands on the autopilot truck. The automatic driving truck drives to the storage yard according to the planned line of the system, and the automatic rail crane completes the container receiving operation in the storage yard. "The application of automatic operation, intelligent gate and automatic driving can reduce the risk of on-site cross operation by 50%," the staff said. Mawan port, built in 1989, provides infrastructure guarantee for the development of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. After three years of transformation, the port area now covers an area of 983600 square meters, with a design throughput capacity of more than 3 million TEUs, and can be used for berthing the world's largest container ship. The reconstructed Mawan port is the world's first overall scheme for upgrading the traditional container terminal with all areas, all hours, all working conditions and multiple elements. It is currently the largest "5g + automatic driving application demonstration" port in China. The 5g base station installed on the lighthouse in the port area realizes the full coverage of 5g signals in the port area. All 38 5g + automatic driving trucks adopt single vehicle unmanned automatic driving operation. After the port reconstruction, the operation efficiency of the wharf has been significantly improved, including 45.4% for the storage yard, 50% for the gate, about 93 operators and more than 90% for carbon emission reduction, which fully demonstrates the world's leading construction achievements in the field of China's smart port.
