The HKSAR government will continue to promote vaccination and is committed to restarting cross-border exchanges between Hong Kong and the mainland and the rest of the world, chief executive of the HKSAR, Carrie Lam, said on the 11th. On the evening of November 11, Lin zhengyue'e attended the dialogue among members of the APEC Business Advisory Council through a video conference. She exchanged views with other economic leaders and members of the APEC Business Advisory Council on the most important issues of the economies coming out of COVID-19. Mrs Lam said that economies must support small and medium-sized enterprises particularly affected by the epidemic. Hong Kong is building a "business data link" to deal with the financing problems faced by small and medium-sized enterprises for a long time. This new financial infrastructure is expected to be put into operation next year. It will provide a unified platform for small and medium-sized enterprises to obtain more convenient financing services. Mrs Lam said that Hong Kong would strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 through a series of carbon reduction measures. As an international financial center, Hong Kong will also vigorously develop green finance. At the meeting, Mrs Lam reiterated that Hong Kong supports free trade and regional economic cooperation and hopes that Hong Kong can join the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement (RCEP) as soon as possible. The APEC Business Advisory Council was established in 1996 as a permanent business advisory organization to advise APEC on topics of particular importance to the business community. (outlook new era)
