According to this 10-year plan, the ASEAN community will achieve the goals of strong political cohesion, economic integration, social and cultural harmony and stability by 2025. In recent years, the construction of ASEAN community has made steady progress. The president's statement of the ASEAN Summit stated that it is necessary to further strengthen the central position of the ASEAN Community and the unity of countries in the region, fully and effectively implement the ASEAN community vision 2025, and will begin to formulate the ASEAN community development vision after 2025. It is predicted that the proportion of digital economy in GDP of ASEAN countries will increase from 1.3% in 2015 to 8.5% in 2025. In the president's statement, the ASEAN Summit stressed that ASEAN recognizes that the pace of digital transformation in the region is accelerating, especially during the epidemic, and digital technology is more rapidly applied to the social and economic development of various countries. ASEAN strongly advocates seizing the opportunity of the fourth industrial revolution and hopes that countries in the region will strengthen cooperation in the fields of network security, artificial intelligence and blockchain, and integrate ASEAN economy by accelerating digital transformation, so as to inject impetus into regional economic recovery. Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail said that the fight against the epidemic has accelerated the development of ASEAN's digital economy. ASEAN as a whole can strengthen cooperation with China and other digital economy powers. "ASEAN economic integration requires every country to contribute to the development of digital economy. Efforts must be made to narrow the gap between ASEAN in digital technology, infrastructure and digital talents." Vietnamese Prime Minister fan Mingzheng said that new economic factors such as digital transformation will promote ASEAN to participate more deeply in regional and global supply chains and improve the attractiveness of ASEAN market. Regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement (RCEP) is also an important part of ASEAN economic integration. Last November, the 10 ASEAN countries and China, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand and Australia signed RCEP. At present, the agreement has been ratified by China, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Brunei. Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said recently that the epidemic has caused regional economic difficulties, and ASEAN countries should make greater efforts to promote economic integration, including approving RCEP as soon as possible, so that it will take effect in January 2022 as planned. So far, the fund has recorded $25.8 million. The ASEAN Summit decided to allocate US $10.5 million for regional countries to purchase new vaccines. The construction of ASEAN emergency medical materials reserve is being accelerated. It is understood that Singapore has donated S $7.9 million (about S $1.35) of medical supplies to the reserve, and Thailand and Vietnam have also donated drugs and medical supplies to the reserve respectively. Lao Vice Foreign Minister tunpan said that in the process of building the ASEAN community, ASEAN has cooperated closely and established a unified public health system, which has promoted and alleviated the problems caused by vaccine shortage and different vaccination progress of various countries to a certain extent. ASEAN Secretary General Lin Yuhui said that in the face of the challenge of the epidemic, the economies of ASEAN countries have shown resilience, and it is expected that the regional economy will resume growth this year and next. Lin Yuhui said that ASEAN's economic recovery depends on the continuous promotion of vaccination programs in member countries. ASEAN will ensure that Member States have fair and reliable access to vaccine supplies through various means such as the anti epidemic fund. The ASEAN summit also adopted the "tourism corridor arrangement framework". ASEAN countries have decided to actively consider adopting and mutually recognizing electronic vaccination certificates, so as to realize isolation free travel within ASEAN as soon as possible and restore and strengthen connectivity. Hong Feng, chairman of Siam think tank in Thailand, told our reporter that the road of post epidemic recovery in ASEAN countries will be long and challenging. It is necessary to simultaneously promote mass vaccination and public health security, and ASEAN has advantages as a subregional community. Hong Feng stressed: "in the face of the epidemic, ASEAN countries do not fight alone, but help and interact with each other, and rely on collective strength to promote the regional economic recovery as soon as possible. In recent years, the continuous promotion of the ASEAN community has benefited the people of ASEAN countries." (outlook new era)
