Since October, the market volume of fresh and tender vegetables has decreased significantly, the average price of some varieties rose sharply in October, and the overall vegetable price also jumped. A vegetable wholesaler in Beijing Xinfadi agricultural products wholesale market told reporters that from the end of September to the whole national day holiday, although the total rainfall in Beijing is not very large, the rainfall in the main vegetable producing areas in the North such as Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Hebei and Shanxi is very large, and many vegetable fields are flooded. Vegetables planted in the open field used to be harvested mechanically, but now they can only be harvested manually due to ponding. Spinach on the Beijing market mainly comes from Liaocheng, Shandong Province. Recently, due to the rain soaked and rotten in the ground, only a small amount of greenhouse spinach in Liaoning can be listed, so the price has risen sharply. The good news is that the prices of storage and transportation resistant varieties such as onion, potato, white gourd, pumpkin, radish, tomato, fungus, ginger and garlic remain basically stable. Zhang Jing said that the adverse effects of rainy and low temperature on vegetable supply in autumn can be divided into immediate and delayed effects: the immediate effects are mainly the slowdown of vegetable growth and inconvenient harvesting, which can be recovered in a short time; The delayed impact is mainly the damage to the vegetables themselves, such as the damage to the roots and branches, which takes a long time to recover, and some even directly lose the market volume. Looking forward to the future, vegetable prices are generally on the high side this year, and growers have strong intention to expand their planting. The planting area of summer vegetables in the cold and cool areas of the North has increased year-on-year, and the supply of storage resistant vegetables is sufficient. At present, the area of field vegetables in China is about 100 million mu, which is flat and slightly increased year-on-year, and the supply of vegetables in autumn and winter is guaranteed. Liu Tong said that according to the normal law of the year, after the end of September, the vegetable supply land will move south. According to the feedback from the place of origin, the vegetables in the southern producing areas are growing well, most of the vegetables can be listed normally on schedule, and the connection of the transformation of vegetable supply places in summer and autumn is basically better than that in the same period last year. For the future trend of vegetable prices, Zhang Jing predicted that "vegetable prices may continue to rise in the later stage, especially the prices of some varieties in the affected areas may remain high for a period of time.
