New Zealand has reached a free trade agreement with Britain

2021-10-21

According to New Zealand media, on October 20, New Zealand and Britain signed a free trade agreement at a video conference after 16 months of negotiations. New Zealand Prime Minister Adrian said at a press conference in Wellington: "as we reconnect, rebuild and recover from crown disease and look forward to the future, this agreement is beneficial to New Zealand's economy and exporters." After the agreement comes into force, 97% of the products of the two countries will be tariff free, which will provide a driving force of nearly NZ $1 billion (about RMB 4.4 billion) for New Zealand's GDP. The New Britain free trade agreement is the second free trade agreement reached by New Zealand this year. In January, New Zealand signed an upgraded trade agreement with China, its largest trading partner. (outlook new era)
