On October 19, State Councilor and foreign minister Wang Yi had a telephone conversation with Nepal's new foreign minister kadega. Wang Yi expressed that China and Nepal are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers and development partners sharing a common destiny. The two countries have always respected each other and treated each other as equals, which has become a model of peaceful coexistence and friendly cooperation between neighboring countries. China appreciates the previous Nigerian governments' firm adherence to the one China policy and their firm support to China on issues involving China's core interests and major concerns. China will also, as always, support Nigeria in safeguarding national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and speak out on issues involving Nepal's core interests. Wang Yi said that since last year, China and Nepal have joined hands to fight the epidemic, promote economic recovery and write a new chapter in the traditional friendship between the two countries. In order to further support Nigeria's fight against the epidemic, China will provide a new batch of vaccine assistance to Nigeria and facilitate Nigeria's commercial vaccine collection in China. One belt, one road, will be shared by the Chinese side to build a "one belt and one road" approach to help the economic and social development of China and forge closer Sino Nigerian destiny. Wang Yi said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the restoration of new China's legitimate seat in the United Nations. We will not forget Nepal's valuable support to China. China is willing to work with Nigeria to defend true multilateralism, resist interference in other countries' internal affairs, oppose unilateralism and bullying, and safeguard the common interests of the two countries and countries in the region. As an important public product and cooperation platform provided by China to the international community, the global development initiative will help Nepal and other developing countries better achieve their own development.
