On the 10th, the 18th "Chinese Bridge" World High School Chinese Competition Egypt Finals and the "Haier Cup · Chinese Bridge" Chinese Competition were successfully concluded in Cairo. This competition is hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Egypt and organized by Cairo University, attracting a total of 23 participants from 20 high schools and 1 high school in Egypt. After intense competition, 10 outstanding contestants stood out and advanced to the finals. The final is divided into three parts: keynote speech, knowledge Q&A, and talent display. Centered around the theme of "Chasing Dreams in Chinese, Living Up to Youth", the contestants fluently and emotionally shared their growth stories in learning Chinese and touching moments of friendship between China and Egypt. The contestants' clear and standard pronunciation, as well as their natural and sincere expression, not only demonstrate a solid language foundation, but also demonstrate a profound cultural understanding. In the knowledge Q&A session, the contestants were quick witted and composed in answering questions covering language knowledge, Chinese national conditions, and traditional culture, winning applause from the audience on site. The talent show is even more colorful - calligraphy and painting, songs and dance, martial arts and shadow puppetry, and skits and modern creativity blend together, showcasing the diverse charm of Chinese language learning and the vivid achievements of cultural exchange between China and Egypt. Lu Chunsheng, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, stated in his speech that Chinese education is flourishing in Egyptian secondary schools, with 21 pilot schools offering Chinese language courses. More schools will join in the future, injecting a steady stream of momentum into cultural exchanges between China and Egypt. Li Habu, Dean of the Confucius Institute at Cairo University, pointed out in his speech that since the inclusion of Chinese as a second language in the national education system of Egyptian secondary schools in 2022, this year is the first "Chinese Bridge" competition for Egyptian secondary school students that is fully participated by middle school students, which has a milestone significance. After intense competition, the first, second, and third prizes, as well as the excellence award, were ultimately selected for the junior high school and high school groups. The award-winning contestants not only received certificates of honor, but also received generous prizes. The first prize winner of the junior high school group comes from Nur Ahmad, an outstanding public language school in the second district. I am very passionate about learning Chinese. Chinese not only allows me to see a better version of myself, but also provides me with more opportunities to improve myself. I hope to one day set foot on the land of China and go there to pursue and realize my dreams
