The Food Safety Law was promulgated and implemented in 2009, and underwent a comprehensive revision in 2015. The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress carried out inspections on the enforcement of the Food Safety Law in 2009, 2011 and 2016. Reporters learned from the first plenary meeting of the Food Safety Law Enforcement Inspection Group of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on the 9th that, in order to comprehensively inspect the problems in the implementation of the law, this law enforcement inspection will take the way of combining the local inspection with the entrusted inspection of the standing committee of the provincial people's congress. The inspection group will go to Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangxi, Henan, Guangxi, Gansu and other provinces (districts, cities) to carry out on-site inspection, and entrust the standing committees of Tianjin, Liaoning, Anhui, Hubei, Guizhou, Qinghai and other provinces (cities) to inspect the implementation of the food safety law in their administrative regions. The on-site inspection work will combine various methods such as listening to reports from local governments and relevant departments, holding symposiums, conducting on-site inspections, and random checks to comprehensively understand the real situation of legal implementation and identify the main problems that exist in legal implementation. The inspection team will focus on 8 aspects: the implementation of responsibilities by government departments and relevant units in charge of food safety; Construction of food safety risk monitoring and assessment system; Construction status of food safety standard system; Implementation of the main responsibility of food producers and operators; The supervision of food safety in schools and other institutions; Supervision of food import and export; The supervision of food safety on online platforms; Implementation status of legal responsibilities and suggestions for amending the law.
