2025-05-09

Recently, the public announcement of the list of students to be subsidized for the "zero cost enrollment" project for extremely poor primary and secondary school students in Deyang City, Sichuan Province for the spring semester of 2025 has ended. 341 extremely poor primary and secondary school students will receive funding. According to regulations, relevant departments will distribute 385000 yuan of subsidy funds for spring semester meals and teaching aids to the bank cards of 341 assisted students, and exempt them from school uniform fees, accommodation fees, and more than 240000 yuan. It is reported that the "Zero Cost Enrollment" project is the first funding project launched by Deyang City in 2025. It is jointly organized and implemented by four departments: Deyang Education Bureau, Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, Municipal Charity Federation, and Municipal Care for the Next Generation Foundation. The project aims to help primary and secondary school students from economically disadvantaged families complete their studies. This project is applied for once every academic year, and students are required to submit their application to their class within two weeks of the start of the new academic year. After the student's own application, school approval and household verification, data comparison, and re examination by the municipal and county education authorities, the public list is determined and made public. The funding mainly includes reductions and subsidies for students' learning and living expenses during their school years, including meal fees, school uniform fees, accommodation fees, teaching aids fees, and after-school extension service fees. School uniform fees, accommodation fees, and after-school extension service fees will be reduced or waived by the school according to the actual situation. Meal fees and teaching aids fees will be subsidized by the Deyang Charity Federation and Deyang Care for the Next Generation Foundation at a standard of 1500 yuan per student per academic year for primary schools and 3000 yuan per student per academic year for secondary schools (including junior high and high schools). After receiving funding from this project, students will basically achieve zero expenses during their school years, greatly reducing the financial burden on their families. (New Society)
