2025-05-07

The first batch of 150 officers and soldiers from my peacekeeping and rapid response team to go to Abuja will soon return home after successfully completing their mission. According to the arrangement, the second batch of teams will be divided into two batches and flown to the mission area by military aircraft starting today. Two teams will hold a task handover ceremony in the near future. At the departure ceremony held at Zhengzhou Xinzheng Airport in the morning, the second batch of 75 officers and soldiers from the peacekeeping and rapid response team, wearing blue berets, lined up neatly for the mission to Aberdeen. They maneuvered from a training base in Henan early in the morning and rushed from the training ground to the peacekeeping battlefield. Sheng Raohuan, the communication team leader who has participated in peacekeeping missions in Darfur, Sudan, stated that he will faithfully fulfill his mission with his comrades, resolutely complete the peacekeeping mission, and showcase the good image of the Chinese military on the international stage. The first batch of peacekeeping and rapid response teams to carry out more than 300 tasks, including armed escorts, armed patrols, setting up temporary checkpoints, and key escorts, deployed a total of 6300 personnel and more than 990 vehicles. All officers and soldiers of the team were awarded the United Nations Peace Medal, and the team was commended and commended by the Commander of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abies. The second batch of peacekeeping and rapid response teams to go to Abuja is mainly composed of a certain brigade of the 81st Army Group of the Army. The team strictly focuses on pre departure training from difficulties, simulates the environment of the task area, sets up various unexpected situations that the task area may encounter, organizes comprehensive exercises with real troops and equipment, and comprehensively enhances the abilities and qualities of officers and soldiers in the application of combat rules, emergency riot control, communication and negotiation, and battlefield rescue. The area of Abei is approximately 10000 square kilometers and is one of the disputed regions between Sudan and South Sudan. On June 27, 2011, the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 1990, which established the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abies, responsible for supervising the withdrawal of Sudan and South Sudan's respective forces from the Abies region. At present, China has sent two peacekeeping teams, a rapid response team and a helicopter team, as well as more than 10 peacekeeping military professionals to the unit. (New Society)
