On April 25th, it was learned that the second Shaanxi Province Cell Industry Innovation Conference was recently held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. The conference, with the theme of "Focusing on the Frontiers of Cells and Building a New Industrial Path Together", officially unveiled the Shaanxi International Cell Gene Industry Transformation Base and released the construction standards for the first provincial-level cell preparation center in China. This conference is jointly hosted by Xi'an Jiaotong University and Shaanxi Stem Cell Society, attracting more than 10 academicians, nearly 50 industry chain enterprises, and over 1500 participants to gather in Xi'an. At the meeting, the Shaanxi International Cell Gene Industry Transformation Base simultaneously unveiled four core platforms, namely the National Stem Cell Transformation Resource Bank (Northwest Branch), the National Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cell Storage Technology Service Standardization Pilot Unit, the Shaanxi Cell Drug Innovation Center (under construction), and the Qinchuangyuan Stem Cell Industry "Three dimensional Linkage Incubator", aiming to build an integrated ecosystem of "basic research clinical transformation industrial application". In order to accelerate the implementation of achievements, multiple cooperation agreements were signed on site at the conference, and the Shaanxi Province "Construction and Management Standards for Cell Preparation Centers" were released. Experts such as Kang Jiuhong and Gao Shaorong from Tongji University were hired as academic leaders of the platform. Li Xiaokun, an academician of the CAE Member and president of Wenzhou Medical University, proposed in the special report that the collaborative research and development of stem cells and growth factors is the key to China's seizing the global technological commanding heights, and the relevant market scale has exceeded 130 billion yuan. The attending experts unanimously believe that cell therapy is extending from disease treatment to precise health management, and the industry needs to improve the closed-loop of the industry chain through standardized production and intelligent supervision. At present, Shaanxi has gathered over a hundred biopharmaceutical enterprises, forming a complete chain covering storage, research and development, production and other links. Chai Wei, Vice President of Xi'an Jiaotong University, stated that the Western China Innovation Port will deepen industry university research cooperation and promote the upgrading of the cell industry to intelligent manufacturing. Wang Qian, Chairman of Shaanxi Stem Cell Society, introduced that relying on Shaanxi (Kyushu) Stem Cell Science and Technology Industrial Park and International Transformation Base, Shaanxi Province will accelerate the cultivation of trillion level industrial clusters and strive to become a source of innovation for the national cell industry.
