The first batch of national standard projects for humanoid robot technology

2025-04-28

The humanoid robot industry is in a period of rapid development, and standardization construction has become an important driving force for promoting industrial development. Recently, the first batch of national standards for humanoid robot technology requirements have been officially approved for project approval. This marks that the development of the humanoid robot industry in China has reached a new level, which will inject strong impetus into industrial standardization and high-quality development. Under the overall coordination of the Secretariat of the National Robot Standardization Technical Committee, Beijing Institute of Mechanical Industry Automation Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Ubisuan Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Ubisuan Technology"), Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center Co., Ltd., Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and others jointly initiated the first batch of national standards in the field of humanoid robots in China, involving multiple technical requirements such as environmental perception, decision-making planning, motion control, and operation. Among them, Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center Co., Ltd. took the lead in writing the requirements for motion control technology; Ubiquitous Technology takes the lead in formulating technical requirements for homework operations, standardizing agile operations, leg movement operations, dual arm operations, etc., filling multiple technical standard gaps in the field of humanoid robots in China. Pang Jianxin, Vice President of Ubiquitous Technology, said that various types of humanoid robots have emerged in the market, demonstrating the ability to handle, grab small objects, and do household chores. However, the specific operational requirements for humanoid robots have not been unified, and there is a lack of technical standards for product application acceptance, supervision, and other aspects. The establishment of national standards for the operation technology requirements of humanoid robots will help solve these problems, promote the progress of humanoid robot technology and industrial development. Yang Qiuying, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Productivity Center of Beijing Machinery Industry Automation Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Secretary General of the Humanoid Robot Standard Working Group of the National Robot Standardization Technical Committee, told reporters that clear standard guidelines can guide enterprises to carry out work in an orderly manner in technology research and development, product manufacturing, and market application, ensuring that humanoid robots have high effectiveness and reliability in practical application scenarios, laying the foundation for large-scale production and widespread popularization. Industry experts believe that with the gradual implementation of the standard, China's humanoid robot industry will innovate in the norms and develop in the innovation, which is expected to occupy a more favorable position in the global robot industry competition, bringing more possibilities for economic and social development.
