Longhu Mountain, located in Yingtan, Jiangxi, is not only one of the birthplaces and activity centers of Chinese Taoism, but also has two international business cards: "World Natural Heritage" and "World Geopark". In recent years, the Longhu Mountain Scenic Area has revitalized the millennium Taoist culture and the hundred million year Danxia landform through innovative cultural tourism integration models. As night falls, a large-scale landscape performance called "Searching for Dreams on Dragon and Tiger Mountain" is staged by the banks of the Luxi River. The audience first walked and then took a boat, crossing a 2-kilometer natural landscape painting and immersing themselves in this visual feast. In the drama, more than 300 actors interact with the natural landscape, integrating dance, drama, martial arts, acrobatics and other performance forms, allowing Taoist myths, ancient Vietnamese customs and Danxia landforms to complement each other. Since its official performance in 2015, "Dream Seeking Dragon and Tiger Mountain" has performed nearly 2800 times and received nearly 1.3 million audience members, becoming a "phenomenal" product of Jiangxi's cultural and tourism industry. While making good use of mountain and water resources, the scenic area also deepens the exploration of cultural genes. The homestays on Longhu Mountain have unique features, where tourists can experience morning chanting, Taoist health meals, and learn how to make traditional sachets. The owner of a homestay, Liu Jun, said, "We are not simply providing accommodation, but allowing guests to experience the charm of culture." Longhu Mountain has established a dynamic balance between cultural and tourism development and ecological protection. 112 environmental monitoring points have established a three-dimensional monitoring network to safeguard the atmosphere, water quality, and biodiversity in real-time; More than 200 tourist bamboo rafts have returned to the traditional method of artificial bamboo poles, reducing pollution and enhancing tourism interest. The data shows that the forest coverage rate of scenic spots has increased from 63.1% before the application for World Heritage to 69.9%. Chinese mermaids and phoenixes?? Waiting for rare bird species to reappear in the mountains and forests reflects the positive interaction between ecological protection and tourism development. (New Society)
