Exploring the New Situation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Cooperation among Jin, Hong Kong, and Macao

The Shanxi Hong Kong Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Cooperation Symposium was held in Macau on the 18th. More than 60 representatives from the governments, enterprises, and industry associations of Shanxi, Hong Kong, and Macao exchanged ideas on topics such as collaboration in the traditional Chinese medicine industry. Li Sijin, Vice Chairman of the Shanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference, delivered a speech stating that Shanxi, as an important birthplace of traditional Chinese medicine culture, has unique resources in traditional Chinese medicine. Macao has platforms such as the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Cooperation Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Industrial Park, which has significant advantages in the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine products, international registration applications, and the development of markets in Portuguese speaking countries. Hong Kong has strong capabilities in international finance, scientific research and innovation. He proposed that the three parties should strengthen cooperation in industry docking, technological innovation, market expansion, cultural exchanges, and other aspects to jointly promote the modernization and internationalization of the traditional Chinese medicine industry. During the speaking session, multiple guests engaged in in-depth discussions around the direction and focus of cooperation among the three regions. Sun Shixin, Deputy Director of the Education, Science, Health and Sports Committee of the Shanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference, proposed to establish a platform for education cooperation between Shanxi, Hong Kong and Macao, and promote joint education and academic exchanges among universities in traditional Chinese medicine, cultural tourism and other majors in the three regions. Cai Jianhua, President of the Macau Pharmaceutical Chamber of Commerce, suggested establishing a Jin Hong Kong Macao API supply chain alliance, setting up initial processing centers in Macau, optimizing logistics costs, and smoothing the trade chain of traditional Chinese medicine products. Jiang Junhong, President of the Hong Kong International Association of Chinese Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine, advocates the creation of a "Jin Hong Kong Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Innovation Triangle", integrating scientific research, capital, and market resources from the three regions, and jointly enhancing the international standard discourse power of traditional Chinese medicine. All parties expressed their expectation that this event will serve as a starting point to deepen the coordinated development of Shanxi, Hong Kong, and Macao in multiple fields, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the regional economy.
