The Hong Kong Airport Authority announced on the 17th that in the first quarter of this year, the passenger volume of Hong Kong International Airport was 14.59 million, an increase of 15% year-on-year. The aircraft takeoff and landing volume increased by 11.3% year-on-year to nearly 96000, and the cargo volume increased by 3.2% year-on-year to 1.17 million tons. Looking back at the past 12 months, the passenger volume at Hong Kong International Airport has increased significantly by 21.6% year-on-year to 54.94 million passengers, the number of aircraft takeoffs and landings has increased by 20.5% to 373000, and the cargo volume has increased by 10.3% to 4.97 million tons. The Airport Authority stated that the aviation network at Hong Kong International Airport will further expand in March. Cathay Pacific, Western Airlines, and Vietnam Airlines have respectively opened new routes connecting Hong Kong with Hyderabad, Dali, and Ho Chi Minh City, further strengthening the connection between Hong Kong and mainland and overseas destinations.
