On the 14th, the Osaka Kansai World Expo in Japan welcomed a landmark moment: the next-generation airborne mobile vehicle "Flying Car" successfully completed its flight demonstration in front of the public for the first time, becoming a highlight of showcasing future mobile technology at this World Expo. This flight is led by Marubeni Corporation, a Japanese trading company, and uses the single pilot aircraft model "Hexa" developed by the emerging American company Lift Aircraft. At 11:00 am, the aircraft carrying 18 electric rotors took off smoothly and demonstrated hovering, turning, and other movements for about 7 minutes at a height of about 10 meters above the landing site of the "Mengzhou" artificial island in Osaka's Tachibana Ward. The first appearance attracted about a hundred spectators to watch. Due to severe weather conditions affecting the opening ceremony the day before, the flight plan was forced to be cancelled, making this flight even more special. This exhibition is just the beginning of the "Flying Car" series of flights. According to the plan, the Osaka World Expo will arrange a total of 19 alternating exhibitions of four types of "flying cars", including start-up SkyDrive and Japan's All Nippon Airways Holdings, between April 13th and June 8th. SkyDrive President Tomohiro Fukuzawa stated that the concept of "flying cars" is not yet widely known to the public, and hopes to use the opportunity of the Osaka World Expo to allow more people to witness and experience the feeling of riding a flying car firsthand.
