French Chinese Chamber of Commerce delegation visits South France to promote cooperation between Chinese and French enterprises and local governments

From March 27th to 29th local time, the French Chinese Chamber of Commerce organized a delegation of nearly 40 members from 30 member companies to visit and coordinate with the Provence-Alpes-C ô te d'Azur region in southern France, to gain a detailed understanding of the region's economic and social status as well as its cultural resources, and further promote cooperation between Chinese and French enterprises and local governments. Chinese Consul General in Marseille, Shi Yuli, accompanied the delegation to visit Bernard Clenov, Chairman of the Economic Development Bureau of the Southern Region of France, Rachel Lamaier, Head of the International Department of the Economic Development Bureau, as well as representatives of the Marseille Chamber of Commerce and the Marseille Small and Medium Enterprises Association. Klenov has visited China multiple times and led a regional delegation to participate in the China International Import Expo in 2024, showing full confidence in China's development. He provided a detailed introduction to the overall situation of the region, especially the local investment policies and industrial advantages, and expressed an urgent desire to further strengthen economic, trade, cultural and tourism cooperation with China. Shi Yuli pointed out that South France has a long history, abundant resources, and huge business opportunities. He hopes that more Chinese funded enterprises will come to South France for inspection and exchange. He stated that the Chinese Consulate General in Marseille will actively assist Chinese enterprises in expanding cooperation. Li Wenguo, Secretary General of the French Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Deputy General Representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in France, stated that last year marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, and this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Europe. The delegation hopes to promote pragmatic cooperation between the two sides and help promote the healthy and stable development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and France, as well as China and Europe. The French Chinese Chamber of Commerce will continue to promote enterprises from different fields and industries to visit and exchange ideas in South France; At the same time, we welcome and support French companies to invest in China, achieving a "two-way rush". Subsequently, the delegation went to Marseille Fos Port for inspection and listened to the Port Group's information on the historical evolution, facility development, economic and trade cooperation with China, and investment projects of Marseille Port. Fatiha Jaregui, Director of the Group's Transport and Logistics Department and Head of the Business Development and Intermodal Transport Solutions Department, stressed that with the promotion of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, Port Marseille is actively expanding economic and trade cooperation with China and playing a key role in promoting bilateral trade exchanges. The delegation had in-depth exchanges with the group on business cooperation. Li Wenguo specifically introduced the third China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo, which will be held in Beijing in July this year. The group expressed strong interest in participating in the exhibition. The delegation also visited the Provence Investment and Development Agency. Florence GOMEZ, Director of Market and Public Affairs at the Development Agency, and others introduced the economic development advantages, key industries, and investment policies of Provence to the delegation. She stated that Provence not only has abundant natural and cultural resources, but also strong innovation capabilities and an open business environment, making it an important gateway for Chinese companies to expand into the European market.
