The reporter learned from the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the national key scientific and technological infrastructure - High Energy Synchrotron Radiation Light Source (HEPS) officially launched the joint commissioning with light on March 27, and the construction of HEPS entered the sprint stage. As the core facility of the major science and technology infrastructure cluster of Huairou Science City in Beijing, HEPS was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and constructed by the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. When completed, HEPS will be one of the fourth generation synchrotron radiation light sources with the highest design brightness in the world and will provide strong support for cutting-edge research in advanced materials, aerospace, biomedicine and other fields.
