On March 23 this year, which is the 65th World Meteorological Day, the China Meteorological Administration and the China Meteorological Society launched the 2025 World Meteorological Day activities in Beijing and released the "Top Ten Meteorological Science and Technology Advances in China" for 2024. Selected as one of the "Top Ten Advances in Meteorological Technology in China" for 2024 are: the establishment of a global and regional atmospheric model prototype system that integrates weather and climate; Artificial intelligence big model achieves global climate prediction for the first time; The independently developed Regional Chemical Weather Numerical Forecasting System of China Meteorological Administration has been established first; A new breakthrough has been made in the integrated typhoon intensity forecasting method that combines deep learning, physical constraints, and numerical simulation; China Meteorological Administration's global atmospheric reanalysis products have achieved domestic substitution; Original architecture weather forecasting AI big model realizes commercialization; The first generation of "full link" space weather numerical forecasting business system has been established; Improvement of cloud microphysics solutions and their application in weather and climate models; Global kilometer level climate ocean simulation across heterogeneous supercomputing: breakthroughs in both performance portability and scientific experimentation of LICOMK++; Revealing new mechanisms driving drought and flood events in East Asia to enhance multi temporal and spatial scale prediction skills. This work is led and organized by the National Meteorological Science and Education Integration Innovation Alliance, and the results cover key areas such as numerical forecasting, artificial intelligence and big data, meteorological satellites, and climate change. The "Top Ten Advances in Meteorological Science and Technology in China" timely reflects the forefront and latest progress in China's meteorological science and technology field. Since its first release in 2024, it has caused a response throughout society, created a good atmosphere of innovation, and helped further stimulate meteorological science and technology innovation, promoting the high-quality development of China's meteorological industry.
