Four generations of artists from the same team have been passing down the tradition of Changde silk strings from generation to generation, jointly inheriting and guarding this excellent local folk art. Changde Sixian is a local folk art popular in Changde, Hunan. It was introduced to Changde from the Jiangsu Zhejiang region during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and evolved and developed by combining with local folk music. It is known as Changde Sixian because it is sung in Changde dialect and accompanied by Sixian instruments. In 2006, Changde silk string was included in the first batch of representative projects of national intangible cultural heritage. On March 19th, four generations of musicians performed a song together on stage. On March 18th, Xie Yanzhu, a representative of the "90s" young actors from Changde Silk String Art Theatre, taught children how to learn Changde Silk String at Huachuanmiao Primary School in Dingcheng District, Changde City. On March 19th, four generations of musicians performed a song together on stage. On March 17th, Zhu Xiaoling (left), a representative inheritor of Changde silk string from the "60s generation", exchanged ideas with Wu Enyu, a young inheritor of Changde silk string from the "80s generation". On March 18th, Wu Enyu (second from left on stage), a young inheritor of the Changde silk string of the "80s generation", performed at the Huimin Festival.
