The "Hong Kong Jockey Club Presentation Series: Picasso - Dialogue with Asia" special exhibition launched by M+, a global contemporary visual culture museum in Asia, held a media preview on the 13th. The exhibition showcases over 60 masterpieces by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. This exhibition is jointly organized by M+and the National Picasso Museum in Paris, and it is the first time that the collection has been exhibited alongside collections from Asian museums. At the same venue, about 130 M+collections from 30 Asian artists were also exhibited, as well as selected collections borrowed from other museums, foundations, and private collections. This exhibition is jointly presented by M+and the French May Art Festival held in Hong Kong, and is also the opening program of the 2025 French May Art Festival. The exhibition is divided into four parts based on the artist's four prototypes: genius, outsider, magician, and apprentice. Famous exhibits include Picasso's representative works from different periods, such as "Portrait of a Man," "Portrait of a Seaside," and "Still Life on a Pedestal. Hua Anya, the director of M+Museum, stated that this exhibition fully demonstrates how cross-cultural cooperation creates new narratives and perspectives, enriches discussions on world art history, and highlights the unique role of M+in exploring diverse dialogues in modern and contemporary visual culture. Cecil Debray, the director of the National Picasso Museum in Paris, stated that this groundbreaking exhibition presents a new methodology and bold discourse, which helps to further expand Picasso's audience and continue to reflect on his artistic influence and people's responses to it. The exhibition will officially open to the public on March 15th and will continue until July 13th. (New Society)
