He has been exposed to Tibetan opera art since childhood and has a natural talent for Tibetan opera art. Under the guidance of his parents, who are professional Tibetan opera actors, he systematically received guidance from professional teachers such as Tibetan opera artists Zhaxi Wangjie and Yundeng Luobu at an early age, gradually forming his own unique singing style and enjoying the nickname of "Tibetan opera prodigy". At the end of 2021, at the age of 13, Gesang Jiancai won the title of "Little Plum Blossom", becoming the first teenager in Xizang to win the highest award for children's opera art in China.
