Recently, the National Fire and Rescue Bureau has deployed fire and rescue teams from various regions to jointly conduct spot checks with market supervision and management departments on densely populated places such as sales enterprises, shops, hotels, supermarkets, etc., to crack down on counterfeit and shoddy products. Multiple departments jointly crack down on counterfeit and shoddy fire products. During a random inspection of the performance parameters of fire products such as dry powder fire extinguishers and fire hoses in a fire product store in Wuling District, Changde, Hunan Province, inspectors found that although the appearance of the fire hoses sold in the store was not abnormal, they did not match the specifications displayed on the China Fire Product Information Network website after scanning and tracing, and were considered unqualified products. In response to the identified issues, firefighters have disseminated relevant laws and regulations to businesses, requiring them to rectify within a specified period of time, strictly control the procurement channels, and ensure the reliable performance of the products sold. In a hotel corridor in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, firefighters saw that the pressure indicator pointer of the fire extinguisher was no longer within the green area, indicating that the pressure inside the tank was insufficient and could not be used normally, and the length of the spray hose did not meet the standard. In Jiujiang, Jiangxi, firefighters found during a random inspection of a supermarket that the fire doors inside the supermarket were "three no" products and could not be tightly closed. Once a fire broke out, smoke and fire would spread through the door cracks, which was very dangerous. In Hebei, Hubei, Zhejiang and other places, fire departments found during inspections of fire extinguishers, emergency lighting and other fire-fighting products in densely populated areas that some products that should be subject to mandatory certification have not obtained certification certificates and do not meet market access standards. In response to the problems discovered during the inspection, the inspectors issued a notice of rectification within a specified time limit on the spot, requiring immediate rectification. In the scene of multiple fire departments destroying counterfeit and inferior fire products, more than 1600 counterfeit and inferior fire products being destroyed using construction vehicles and hydraulic pliers were seized by the Zhuzhou Fire Rescue Department in Hunan Province during recent law enforcement inspections. With the command, the construction vehicle drove into the site and crushed and scrapped inferior filtering self rescue respirators, smoke detectors, and other unqualified firefighting products. Firefighters used hydraulic pliers to break and destroy the unqualified fire extinguisher cylinders, and sent the destroyed firefighting products to the garbage incinerator for power generation. If counterfeit and inferior products flood the market, the safety of people's lives and property will not be guaranteed. In Shizuishan, Ningxia, Yantai, Shandong and other places, firefighters have also destroyed unqualified firefighting products such as emergency lighting fixtures, firefighting water guns and hoses confiscated during recent supervision and inspection. Firefighters from Xinjiang and other regions have joined forces with communities, enterprises, etc. to set up mobile fire safety propaganda vehicles and fire product knowledge exhibition boards, teaching everyone to recognize and use qualified fire equipment, enhancing fire safety awareness and self rescue and mutual rescue capabilities. Counterfeit and inferior products pose a great threat to fire safety. If these counterfeit and inferior fire safety products are installed nearby, they may not only be ineffective in the event of a fire, but also become accomplices to the fire. The fire department conducted experiments to visually demonstrate the hazards of counterfeit and inferior products, and taught everyone to identify the authenticity of fire products. The fire hose inside the indoor fire hydrant is an important facility for extinguishing fires and must be equipped in densely populated places such as hotels and supermarkets with a certain scale. In a testing experiment conducted by firefighters in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, it was observed that after 5 minutes of water discharge, as the water pressure continued to increase, the inlet connection of a low-quality and unqualified water hose suddenly detached, while a qualified water hose was used normally. Fire extinguishers are common firefighting equipment around us. The circular pressure gauge is divided into three areas: red, yellow, and green. Only when the pressure pointer reaches the green area can it be considered a qualified product. However, the appearance identification of counterfeit and inferior fire-fighting products is often vague and rough. Lv Fushan, a fire supervisor from the Fire Rescue Brigade of Xinyang City, Henan Province: Legitimate fire extinguishers have clear product nameplates, including detailed information such as model, type of extinguishing agent, usage method, shelf life, etc. The identification of counterfeit and inferior products is usually unclear or even non-existent. Qualified products have the 3C certification mark on the bottle body. Without this mark, it is considered a counterfeit product. In the experiment conducted by firefighters, it can be seen that the powder sprayed by the fake fire extinguisher clumped severely and stopped spraying after 3 seconds, causing the fire to reignite. Liu Yile, Fire Rescue Brigade of Ezhou City, Hubei Province: There are two main hidden dangers of counterfeit and inferior fire extinguishers. One is the use of inferior powder to impersonate qualified dry powder, which leads to the inability to suppress combustion. Secondly, the quality of the components is poor, and they are prone to explosions when exposed to high temperatures or impacts. Firefighters remind that if counterfeit or inferior firefighting products are found, they can call the "12315" reporting hotline at any time to report and file a complaint. The three major categories of fire protection products must undergo mandatory product certification. Mandatory product certification is a product qualification assessment system designed to ensure safety. All firefighting products listed in the catalog need to obtain certification before they can be sold. So, currently, which fire protection products are required to obtain mandatory product certification? In early March, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Fire and Rescue Bureau jointly issued a notice that mandatory product certification management will no longer be implemented for fire safety signs in the mandatory product certification catalog. The production and sales of fire safety signs do not need to obtain a mandatory 3C certificate for product certification. In addition, fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, and emergency escape facilities, these three major categories of firefighting products, still need to pass mandatory certification before they can be sold. According to experts, all fire protection products listed in the mandatory product certification catalog that have not obtained the 3C certification certificate and have not affixed the 3C certification mark as required shall not be allowed to leave the factory, sell, import or use in other business activities. And for these three categories of products that require mandatory certification, as buyers, how should we verify the authenticity of the products?
