Grassroots Fax | Class Leader Li's "Urgent" and "Slow"

2025-03-12

Captain Li is an impatient person. "This is the first impression many officers and soldiers have of First Class Sergeant Li Zhuang in a certain squadron of the Zhangjiajie Branch of the Hunan Armed Police Force. Five years ago, Li Zhuang transferred to his current squadron. In his original unit, he served as the class monitor for many years. Upon learning of this situation, the party branch of the squadron decided to appoint his director and continue appointing him as the squad leader. As soon as he took office, Li Zhuang demonstrated a style of "wind and fire". Generally speaking, considering that the training foundation of new recruits is generally weak, the initial requirement for them is mostly "good" training performance. However, with Li Zhuang, this standard has been raised to "excellent". When the new recruits left the team, soldier Chen Linsheng barely passed the 3000 meter race. At Li Zhuang's request, he took turns every day to perform squats, frog jumps, sprints, and endurance runs. Finally, in a test, Chen Linsheng's score broke through to "good", only 5 seconds away from entering the "excellent" category. You didn't control the pace well this time, run another 3000 meters tomorrow Li Zhuang did not praise Chen Linsheng's progress too much, but instead pointed directly at the problems and shortcomings. Chen Linsheng felt uneasy after hearing this and felt that the class monitor was too eager to achieve success. The next day, Chen Linsheng wanted to be perfunctory, but he didn't expect that Li Zhuang not only ran with him, but also kept nagging on the side: "Follow my rhythm, take a deep breath," "Step up the pace," "Maintain a constant speed." In the first half of the journey, Chen Linsheng was full of doubts about Li Zhuang's guidance: "The speed is slower than usual, is this really useful?" But in the second half, he found that instead of slowing down due to lack of physical strength as before, he ran more and more vigorously, and finally had the strength to sprint for the last 100 meters. Arriving at the finish line, Chen Linsheng's time was 15 seconds faster than before. However, before he could be happy, he was pulled back to the lawn by Li Zhuang and began to stretch and relax. The class monitor always hopes that we can grow faster, even faster Later, I got familiar with Li Zhuang. Chen Linsheng began to understand his "urgency" and even felt a little distressed. Some comrades kindly reminded him to pay attention to the balance between work and rest, and not to train too hard. He didn't take it seriously and said, "It's okay, you can't get tired!" He was really afraid of anything. After a period of time, due to overwork, Li Zhuang's waist was injured and the pain during training was unbearable. The doctor suggested hospitalization, but as a result, he took a few plasters and left. At that time, as the year-end assessment approached, some comrades in the class had unsatisfactory training results. After returning from the hospital, Li Zhuang rushed to the training ground and led everyone to practice more. In the end, all the soldiers in the class achieved a perfect grade. Who would have thought that such an impatient class monitor would often talk about "taking it slow". Once, the squadron organized a 400 meter obstacle test and ranked last in the class. Looking at his transcript, Li Zhuang became "anxious" - he studied and formulated a training plan overnight, and standardized his technical movements based on the characteristics of each soldier in the class. But at the beginning, some soldiers failed to master obstacle crossing skills correctly, and their grades declined instead of improving. They thought they would be criticized by the squad leader, but Li Zhuang told them, "Take it slow, just practice a few more times." In the following training, the soldiers found that "take it slow" had almost become Li Zhuang's catchphrase. When they feel dejected due to slow improvement in grades, Li Zhuang always comforts them like this: "Take it slow, don't worry." In fact, Li Zhuang's heart is burning with anger without saying it. After each training session, he carefully reviews and helps everyone improve in a timely manner. Sometimes, being slow is also a form of being fast. Hard work pays off. One month later, the soldiers in the class found the speed and rhythm that suited them, and all 400 meter obstacle scores were within 2 minutes. Li Zhuang has his own understanding of "urgency" and "slowness": "In the current task, of course, we must focus on quick work and not delay. But when encountering difficulties, we must also be scientific, maintain composure and patience, and be willing to spend time researching and solving them. Only with slow work can we produce meticulous work." Last year, the squadron organized a research project to tackle the problem. As a training backbone, Li Zhuang is responsible for the writing of lesson plans and teaching work for 7 subjects. Time is tight and the task is heavy. There are many ready-made excellent lesson plans in the internal database. A comrade suggested that he make slight modifications and use them directly. Li Zhuang shook his head. But he still downloaded many excellent lesson plans for learning and research, and closely integrated them with the actual situation of the squadron for enrichment and writing. When other coaches completed the relevant tasks ahead of schedule, Li Zhuang was still making repeated revisions. Donate without merit. In last year's assessment, Li Zhuang was responsible for courses with an excellent rate of over 98%. When studying the training schedule for the new year, the squadron decided to use the lesson plan written by Li Zhuang this year. After receiving the notice, Li Zhuang didn't say a word and immediately started to supplement and improve the lesson plan. (New Society)
