On March 9th, the Chinese Ministry of National Defense announced that the Chinese, Iranian, and Russian navies will hold the "Security Tie-2025" joint exercise in the first and middle of March. It is reported that the maritime joint exercise codenamed "Security Link" began in 2019, and this will be the fifth maritime joint exercise conducted by China, Iran, and Russia. According to the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, the exercise is planned to be organized and implemented in the vicinity of Chabahar Port in Iran. It mainly involves exercises such as striking maritime targets, conducting inspections and arrests, damage control, and joint search and rescue, aiming to deepen military mutual trust and practical cooperation among the participating countries' militaries. The Chinese side will send the 47th batch of escort fleet destroyers Baotou and comprehensive supply ship Gaoyou Lake to participate. Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported on the 9th that the exercise was hosted by the Iranian Navy and took place in the northern Indian Ocean near the port city of Chabahar in southeastern Iran. Iranian Navy and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warships will participate in the exercise. The purpose of this exercise is to strengthen regional security, enhance multilateral cooperation, and demonstrate the ability of participating parties to maintain world peace, ensure maritime security, and build a maritime community with a shared future. On the 9th, the Russian newspaper "Izvestia" reported that the Pacific Fleet, consisting of the escort ships "Russian Federation Hero Ardar Zijianzhapov" and "Leng Leng", as well as the oil tanker "Pechenka", arrived at the Chabahar port in Iran on the same day and will participate in the China Iran Russia naval exercise from March 10th to 13th.
