Accelerating the layout of policies and technologies in various regions to help the charging industry improve
2025-02-25
On February 24th, the reporter learned from the Ministry of Finance that multiple departments, including the Ministry of Finance, have issued a notice on the pilot application for filling the gaps in county-level charging and swapping facilities in 2025. In addition, recently, Beijing, Henan, Anhui and other places have also intensively released policies related to the construction of charging infrastructure, promoting the accelerated layout of new energy vehicle charging facilities. Industry insiders point out that with the continuous development of new energy vehicles, China's charging facilities are also continuously improving. Not only is the quantity constantly increasing, but the layout is also further improved. Policies, technology and other favorable factors are helping to promote the healthy development of the energy supplement industry. According to the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the Charging Alliance), in January 2025, the increase in charging infrastructure was 395000 units, a year-on-year increase of 49.5%. Among them, the increase in public charging stations was 181000 units, a year-on-year increase of 222.5%, and the increase in private charging stations built with vehicles was 214000 units, a year-on-year increase of 2.9%. As of January 2025, the cumulative number of charging infrastructure in China is 13.213 million units, an increase of 49.1% year-on-year. The market has also recognized the potential of the charging industry. According to data from Tianyancha Professional Edition, in terms of the trend of enterprise registration numbers, the number of registered companies related to charging piles has shown a significant year-on-year growth trend in the past decade, reaching a peak of over 174000 in 2024. The rapid growth of charging infrastructure is not only driven by market demand, but also inseparable from strong policy guidance. In order to accelerate the filling of the gaps in public charging and swapping facilities in rural areas and further unleash the consumption potential of new energy vehicles, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport and other departments recently issued a notice on the application for the pilot project of filling the gaps in county-level charging and swapping facilities in 2025. There are a total of 75 pilot spots, and the central government's reward funds are specially used to support the pilot work of filling the gaps in county-level charging and swapping facilities. Various regions are also actively laying out the construction of charging facilities. The "Action Plan for the Development of High Quality Supercharging Stations for New Energy Vehicles" released by Beijing clearly states that by the end of 2025, more than 1000 supercharging stations and over 2000 supercharging piles will be built, and the service radius of the six districts in the city will reach 1 kilometer. The average charging time of mainstream supercharging models (800V voltage platform) at supercharging piles can be reduced to about 15 minutes. Henan Province is also actively promoting the construction of charging facilities. According to the "2025 Henan Province Key Livelihood Work Plan", it is planned to build more than 20000 new public charging piles throughout the year to accelerate the solution to the "last mile" problem of new energy vehicle charging. The "Key Points for the Construction of Anhui Province's New Energy Vehicle Industry Cluster in 2025" proposes to build 25000 public charging piles and 23000 dedicated and self use charging piles throughout the year, achieving "full coverage of charging stations in every county and charging piles in every township". Along with policy promotion, technological innovation is also providing strong support for the development of charging facilities. At the Sanhui Road charging station in Xuhui District, Shanghai, the reporter saw that although the fixed charging stations were fully occupied, the on-site staff were still guiding vehicles to charge inside. An unmanned intelligent car slowly drives towards the vehicle that needs to be charged, and after successfully shaking hands, the vehicle display screen shows a half-hour waiting time for charging. This is the first integrated project of "light storage charging and discharging" in Shanghai, which was officially put into operation on February 6th at the Sanhui Road charging station in Xuhui District. It is reported that the station not only realizes the efficient energy utilization mode of "self use and surplus electricity grid connection", but also is equipped with intelligent mobile storage and charging vehicles, integrating storage, charging, and discharging, with a one-time storage capacity of 104 kWh and a charging power of 60 kW. This project not only provides support for peak shaving and valley filling in the power grid, but also demonstrates the future development direction of deep integration of charging facilities and energy management Cao Yifan, Marketing Department of State Grid Shanghai South Power Supply Company, said. In fact, with the popularization of intelligent networking technology and the development of autonomous driving technology, technological innovation in charging facilities will become an important direction to support the development of new energy vehicles in the future Tong Zongqi, Deputy Secretary General of the Charging Alliance, stated in an interview with reporters that the application scenarios of automatic charging methods such as wireless charging and mobile charging will continue to increase. Meanwhile, the utilization of clean energy will also become an important development direction for charging facilities. It is worth noting that cooperation between car companies also provides assistance in accelerating the improvement of charging facility layout. Xiaopeng Motors recently announced cooperation with Volkswagen Group (China), BP Pulse and other companies to jointly build a charging network. Xiaomi Auto also announced recently that it will start charging network cooperation with NIO, Xiaopeng Motors, and Ideal Motors, and the charging piles under the three car companies will join Xiaomi Charging Map. The construction of charging facilities not only requires policy guidance, but also the coordinated promotion of technology, business models, and policy support. In the future, charging facilities will be deeply integrated with intelligent connected vehicles to provide users with more convenient and efficient travel services Tongzong Banner said.
